Antalya Kepez Municipality uncovers Lyrboton Kome, a large olive oil production village of Perge Ancient City with a history of 2200 years, with archaeological excavations.

Antalya's Kepez Mayor Hakan Tütüncü said that they wanted to revive the life of 2,200 years ago in Lyrboton Kome, a large olive oil production village of Perge Ancient City, with an archaeological arrangement.

Stating that olive and olive oil production started to increase again in Antalya, which is one of the olive oil production centers of the Mediterranean in history, Hakan Tütüncü continued as follows.

'' We opened a very important ancient city, an area of archaeological value to visitors in the city center of Antalya. Just above our neighborhood Varsak, a 2,200-year-old olive processing center was found in Lyrboton Kome Antique City. A woman named Arete had performed the operation and management of Lyrboton Kome Ancient City. We excavated this ancient city for 5 years and brought it to light. This is the first ancient city brought to light by a local municipality in Turkey. This area, which has been open to visitors for about 1.5 years, is turning into an archeopark with the project of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. ''
